Pro Tips
Practical strategies to get the most out of MiniCards and spaced repetition.
Cards that fail repeatedly are auto-suspended. Re-chunk difficult concepts into smaller cards instead of grinding.
Enable FSRS load balance to smooth daily review volume. Avoid review avalanches and dry days.
Use TTS to read cards aloud. Review hands-free while commuting, exercising, or doing chores.
Rate cards with 1-4 keys, navigate with keyboard, and stay in flow without touching the mouse.
Master Your Reviews
Handle Difficult Cards (Leech)
Some cards are persistently hard to remember. MiniCards detects these “leech” cards — when retrievability drops below the leech threshold (default 8 lapses) — and can auto-suspend them.
Instead of brute-forcing a leech card, consider:
- Splitting it into smaller, more focused cards
- Adding mnemonics or context
- Restructuring the information
Smooth Out Your Workload
Enable the FSRS Load Balance option in review settings. The algorithm adjusts review intervals slightly to prevent extreme clustering — no more having 200 cards due one day and 5 the next.
Listening Mode
MiniCards integrates with system TTS (text-to-speech). In listening mode, cards are read aloud automatically:
- Configure朗读 range: single card or entire session
- Auto-read after card flip
- Adjustable speech rate and pitch
- Works with any language supported by your system’s TTS engine
Keyboard Navigation
All review actions have keyboard shortcuts:
1— Again2— Hard3— Good4— EasySpace— Flip card- Keyboard navigation for group selection and settings
Zen Mode
Toggle Zen Mode during review to strip away all non-essential UI. Just the card and the rating buttons — pure focus for deep study sessions.
Session Timer
Each review session tracks your focused time. At the end, see how many cards you reviewed, your accuracy, and total time spent — a small reward for a productive session.
